Bacchus (408 Lewers St., 2nd floor), bar, lounge with a friendly staff, delicious drinks and great prices. Popular with locals and visitors. Weekend DJs and special parties. No cover.

Hula's Bar & Lei Stand (134 Kapahulu Ave., 2nd floor), bar, lounge and nightclub. Dance club, DJs/VJs, billiards, dancers and food served. Cover charge after 9pm on Thurs, Fri, Sat.

In Between (2155 Lauula St.), very small neighborhood karaoke bar, mixed crowd, casual atmosphere; $1 per song.

Scarlet (80 S. Pauahi St.), dance club and tiki bar located in Chinatown. Honolulu's newest club has great drag shows with big name performers.
