Queer Culture Night at HOMA
Fashioning Aloha Exhibit and Talk!

Friday, April 19th - 6pm-9pm

Who doesn't love Aloha attire!?!? Ready to dress up AND learn the history?
Let's have a queer culture night filled with fun and fabulousness.

HOMA has a new iconic exhibit, and have a talk with designers! This is gonna be so much fun, especially when we all wear our best aloha attire.

People are welcome to go to the museum as early as you want, but we will meet at 6:15pm, and get into the 7pm talk.

Queer Hike! Lulumahu Falls

Saturday - April 27th - 10am-1pm

DISTANCE: 1.6 miles, 900 foot elevation.

RANK: Moderate.

DESCRIPTION: Very muddy and slippery, wear good shoes. One of Oahu's most popular unsanctioned hiking trails, Lulumahu Falls Trail traverses into a dense bamboo forest, along the Nu'uanu Reservoir and up to Lulumahu Falls, a 100 foot waterfall. WHAT TO BRING: Did we mention muddy? Please bring hiking/grippy shoes, *bug spray*, at least 2 liters of water, sun protection/hat, a towel, swim trunks if you want to swim after, and snacks. A second pair of shoes and dry socks are useful after the hike.

Remember that you want to be present, enjoy the hikes and meet other people, so ideally be sober and no recreational drugs in your system.

Meet us at the parking lot trailhead by 9:55 am. Optional beach time afterwards, weather pending.


Pool Tournament & Draft Beer/Well Liquor Bust

Sunday, May 5th 2:00pm-6:00pm @ Tapa’s Waikiki

Join The Aloha Bears at Tapa's Waikiki on Sunday, May 5th from 2pm-6pm for our Monthly Pool Tournament and Draft Beer/Well Liquor Bust. The bar now has Jenga and Cornhole (bags) for anyone that want's to start up a game. It’s also Cinco de Mayo and the bar will have Tequila and Margarita Specials!!!

Registration for the pool tournament will begin around 2pm with Ben at the pool table. Entry is $5 (winner takes all) and the tournament will begin at 2:30pm.

The draft beer/well liquor bust will start at 2:00pm.

$5 at the door for your cup and first draft beer. Refills at the bar for $3.

$8 at the door for your cup and first well drink. Refills at the bar for $4.



The Aloha Bears General Meeting (Members Only)

Thursday, May 9th 7:30pm-8:30-pm @ Tapa’s Waikiki

Join The Aloha Bears for our monthly General Meeting on Thursday, May 9th 7:30pm-8:30pm.

This is an in-person meeting at Tapa's Waikiki. We meet in the back near the pool table, so there is enough space.

If you want to come early, around 7pm, some of us meet for a drink and dinner. We sit together as 'ohana, talk story, and enjoy each others company before the meeting.

As a current member in good standing, one of the benefits allows you to not only vote for any board members up for re-election, but you can present new ideas, ask questions to the board, get to know more about our group, or join a committee.

Our Bear Boat/Booze Cruise on the 2nd Sunday of May will be cancelled since Lei-a-Bear 2024 is at the end of the month. However, check out the information below for our Toga Party on May 12th.

Come join The Aloha Bears for our first ever Toga Party at Tapas Waikiki on Sunday, May 12th starting at 2pm.

There will be a draft beer/well liquor bust between 2pm-6pm, we'll be selling Jell-O Shots. The bar will also be serving up some light snacks as well.

Anyone wearing a Toga will get a ticket for $1 off draft beer/well drink. You can go for the classic look or show off your creativity.

The pool table will be open, the Jenga tower will be up for any brave souls, and the cornhole and bags will be out so start getting your teams together.

All money raised will go towards our charities at the end of the year. Check them out on our website.


Bearaoke @ In Between Waikiki

Thursday, May 16th 7pm-10pm

Join us for Bearaoke at In Between Waikiki on Thursday, May 16th from 7-10pm.

Come hang out, enjoy a few drinks and show us your hidden talent….no not that talent! Singing Karaoke of course.

No song fees for bear members and guests.

In Between is offering select shots for $6.
